Well done to the 2nd yr team who beat a very strong Inver College Carrickmacross in the Finals on Wednesday 19th In Carrickmacross. The team have won every game this year but this was a new level. They had a slow start to the game and after the 1st 2 quarters they were down 16-8. They slowly got some scores to bring it level and from there they got some great scores and defended their basket so well. 3 1st yrs also played on the team and added to the score. Final score was 29-23. A.O’Shea worked so hard and got some crucial blocks and scores, K.Martin C.O’Neill, S.McCaffrey and L. O’Reilly were also key to the success.They now go through to the playoffs.
Well done but hard luck to the 1st yr team. They got to the finals and found it tough to get the crucial scores. They played very well and led at one point but the experience of the other team St.Louis Carrickmacross won it for them. They are still through to the playoffs and have time to keep improving on their shooting and tactics. They gave it their all and should continue to improve.
